The Purchasing Administrator is an exciting role with a growing, well-established family company based in Telford, Shropshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the overall purchasing function including maintaining stock of a wide range of products from an extensive supplier network in the UK and throughout the world.

 

Responsibilities

  • Run daily routines for generating and placing purchase orders based on sales order shortfalls and low inventory replenishment

  • Monitor and implement inventory levels according to historic and forecasted sales demand

  • Evaluate and maintain purchase pricing by supplier to provide consistent and continuous product availability.

  • Implement and maintain stock coding information to ensure up to date supplier changes are correctly reflected

  • Implement new product set up sheets with relevant information

  • Maintain supplier relationships to ensure pertinent and timely market intelligence

  • Monitor and update purchase order and stock system details to ensure timely and accurate information to sales and customer services team

  • Report according to established KPI’s on stock value, stock turn and order line fill rates

  • Maintain and manage supplier queries and returns to ensure timely resolution

  • Maintain supplier information and order database

  • Arrange and monitor third-party collection of goods with freight companies ensuring price competitive implementation

  • Ad-hoc support for answering inbound phone calls to include query resolution and issuing of quotations as required

Requirements

  • A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can handle multiple concurrent projects and possesses excellent organisational and communication skills

  • Experience in purchasing and preferably procurement environment would be advantageous

  • The ability to problem solve and implement solutions

  • Excellent literacy, numeracy and analytical skills

  • Excellent IT skills including the use of Microsoft Excel
